The Verge has taken 1,000 photos with Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro and another 1,000 photos with Google’s Pixel 6 Pro, in order to hopefully be able to nominate a camera winner.

In short, the main cameras are almost as good, sometimes the iPhone takes better pictures, sometimes the Pixel takes better pictures. However, the telephoto camera seems to be better on the Pixel 6 Pro, the images are sharper and the zoom extends to 4x, unlike the iPhone 3x. The ultra-wide angle on the iPhone is slightly wider (120 vs. 114 degrees) and takes pictures with more contrast than Pixel’s ultra-wide angle. For video, the iPhone is still the best in most scenarios.
