Valve, the gaming giant, has showcased its latest innovation in portable gaming with the introduction of the upgraded Steam Deck OLED. Following the success of its initial foray into the handheld gaming market with the sleek Steam Deck, Valve has decided to enhance the hardware to provide even more value to its customers. The new Steam Deck OLED aims to improve the device in almost every conceivable way, featuring a cutting-edge OLED screen that promises deeper blacks and more vibrant colors compared to the original LCD display.

Not only does the OLED screen consume less power, but the new model also boasts a more powerful battery, delivering between 30% and 50% more power. In addition to these improvements, the updated version comes with a refined AMD APU, and the inclusion of Wifi 6E ensures faster game downloads and smoother online gaming experiences. Despite being 5% lighter than its predecessor, the Steam Deck OLED manages to incorporate a larger fan, promising a cooler and quieter gaming experience.

Scheduled for release on November 16, the Steam Deck OLED will be available in two configurations. The model with 512GB storage will be priced at $549, while the 1TB version will cost $649.

For those not enticed by the latest release, the updated model has also impacted the current hardware lineup. The older models have seen a reduction in price following the imminent arrival of their enhanced sibling. The Steam Deck LCD, now available with 512GB, 256GB, or 64GB, can be obtained for $449, $399, and $349, respectively. Valve’s commitment to providing options for gamers of all preferences and budgets is evident in this diversified lineup. As the gaming community eagerly awaits the debut of the Steam Deck OLED, Valve continues to redefine portable gaming with each innovative release.
