Sony Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S / X were launched just in time for Christmas sales in November, but the volume in the first wave was low. There are still many who pre-ordered the game consoles long in advance who haven’t received their unit and it is still highly unclear when the supply will meet the demand. Swedish gaming site FZ has made a tour of several large retailers, which paint a gloomy picture of the future.

“Access is still extremely limited. We regularly receive small deliveries of all consoles, but are far from covering demand. Both Xbox models are starting to look brighter with larger and more frequent deliveries. Estimates that the entire first half of 2021 will be strained” – John Ljungström at Inet.se

Retailers seem to agree that customers who are far behind in the order queue shouldn’t count on weeks but months of waiting.
