In a surprising move, Sony has decided to adjust the pricing of its PlayStation Plus subscription services, citing the need to deliver even more value to its loyal gaming community. The price adjustment, set to take effect from September 6th, will see an increase of twenty percent across all subscription tiers. This change aims to facilitate the provision of a wider array of high-quality games and additional benefits to enhance the overall PlayStation Plus experience.

The revised pricing structure for each subscription model is as follows:

  1. PlayStation Plus Essential 12-Month Subscription: This tier includes online multiplayer gaming and three complimentary game gifts per month. The cost will rise from 59.99 Euro to 71.99 Euro.
  2. PlayStation Plus Extra 12-Month Subscription: Subscribers at this level will enjoy online multiplayer gaming, three monthly game gifts, and access to a rotating catalog of both new and classic titles. The subscription fee will increase from 99.99 Euro to 125.99 Euro.
  3. PlayStation Plus Premium 12-Month Subscription: The Premium tier offers online multiplayer gaming, three monthly game gifts, access to the rotating catalog of new and classic titles, and the addition of classic games to the offering. Subscribers will now pay 119.99 Euro, up from the previous price of 151.99 Euro.

Sony’s rationale behind this decision is clear: the company seeks to ensure the ability to consistently provide its user base with a diverse selection of compelling games and valuable features through the PlayStation Plus subscription service. As gaming enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the price adjustment, Sony’s commitment to delivering top-notch gaming experiences remains resolute. The company’s statement highlights their intentions: “This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service.”
