Samsung, in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, is set to launch a new extended reality (XR) platform aimed at integrating the physical and digital worlds through immersive experiences. This platform will be compatible with both headsets and smart glasses, offering users a seamless blend of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) environments.

The first device to utilize this platform is a mixed-reality headset codenamed “Project Moohan,” which is expected to be released in 2025. The name “Moohan,” meaning “infinity” in Korean, reflects Samsung’s vision of providing limitless, immersive experiences in a digital universe. The headset is anticipated to feature high-fidelity displays, hand and eye tracking, and AI capabilities, delivering an interactive user experience.

A key component of this platform is Gemini, an AI assistant designed to enhance user interactions. Gemini enables natural language processing, allowing users to engage with their devices through voice commands and conversational interfaces. This integration aims to make interactions more intuitive and personalized, facilitating tasks such as real-time translation, contextual awareness, and enhanced navigation.

The XR platform is designed to be scalable and compatible with various devices, ensuring flexibility and adaptability for different use cases. It supports multimodal interactions, including voice commands, gestures, and eye movements, providing a comprehensive and immersive experience. The platform also offers support for third-party developers, enabling a wide range of applications and services to be integrated into the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem.

This initiative positions Samsung alongside competitors like Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, aiming to establish a significant presence in the emerging XR market. By leveraging its collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, Samsung seeks to deliver a compelling and competitive XR experience to consumers.
