AudioValley, which owns Winamp, has uploaded a new website for the media player where we find out that it will reappear in a new form. We do not know exactly what the new media player will be able to do, but judging by the information on the website, we will get closer to the musicians we love.

AudioValley states: Something big is happening. We’re building Winamp for the next-generation. Not just updated, but totally remastered. The new Winamp connects you to your music wherever you are. It brings you closer to the artists you love. It’s home to your favorite music podcasts and radio stations.

It’s probably a streaming service of some kind, but whether Winamp can fight the streaming giants that already exist remains to be seen.
