ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X Up for Pre-Order — AMD-Powered Handhelds Drop October 16
ASUS Republic of Gamers has officially opened pre-orders for its latest gaming handhelds: the ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X. Developed in close collaboration with Xbox, these devices promise a serious leap in performance and battery life compared to their predecessors — and they’re tailored for both casual and hardcore gamers alike.
The standard ROG Xbox Ally, powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z2 A chip, is built for efficiency and everyday gaming, while the ROG Xbox Ally X packs the next-gen AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme for those who want top-tier handheld performance in demanding AAA titles. ASUS claims the new processors deliver up to 30% more power and twice the battery life in some titles, along with access to AMD’s latest graphical enhancements like FSR and Fluid Motion Frames.
Both handhelds are designed with ergonomics in mind and offer a full-screen Windows 11 experience — complete with support for major PC storefronts and a unified gaming library. They also feature Xbox ecosystem integration, making the devices a compelling hybrid between console and PC gaming.
Pre-orders kicked off at 2:00 a.m. CEST today, September 26, and are available in over 30 regions including Sweden, the US, UK, and Japan. A broader global release is scheduled for October 16, 2025. In Sweden, pricing is set at 6 999 SEK for the ROG Xbox Ally and 10 999 SEK for the ROG Xbox Ally X. Retailers include Elgiganten, Inet, Webhallen, Power, and several others.
