Sony is gearing up to celebrate three decades of PlayStation with a pair of high-profile collector’s items: a 400‑page art book and a limited edition sneaker collaboration.

What’s Inside the Art Book

The volume, titled PlayStation: The First 30 Years, will dive deep into the platform’s design history, featuring prototype hardware, concept sketches, and behind‑the-scenes development visuals. It’s intended for serious fans and collectors and is scheduled for release in spring 2026.

There are two versions available: a standard edition and a deluxe edition. The deluxe version comes with a foil‑stamped presentation box and an exclusive signed print, and is limited to 1,994 copies—a numeric nod to PlayStation’s original launch year.

Sneaker Collab: PlayStation × Reebok

Alongside the book, Sony is teaming up with Reebok to produce three distinct sneaker models, each inspired by a different region’s PlayStation launch:

  • InstaPump Fury 94 (Japan)
  • Workout Plus (UK)
  • Pump Omni Zone II (US)

The designs lean into the original PlayStation’s color palette and retro aesthetics. Sales are expected to begin in October 2025, though exact pricing hasn’t been disclosed yet.

Why These Celebrations Matter

For fans, the initiatives serve as a tangible piece of PlayStation history and nostalgia. For Sony, they reinforce brand identity and reinforce the emotional connection the community has built over 30 years. Limited‑run items like these can also drive hype, collectible value, and media attention.
