Nintendo’s Rare Prototype Console Found by Collectors After 23 Years
It has been 23 years since Nintendo unveiled its small cubic console with great fanfare at Spaceworld, their very own fair that ran between 1989 and 2001. Five machines were on display, each in different colors, and although none of them were functional, collectors have been feverishly trying to find one of these prototypes. Something that now seems to have happened. Console Variations was able to show a picture of the indigo-colored version today, an almost priceless collector’s item for Nintendo fans, and only the black, gold, silver, and pink versions remain to be found. Provided they still exist and haven’t gone to a scrap yard somewhere. A video from Nintendo Spaceworld 2000 can be viewed here for those who wish to do so.
