Microsoft releases the ‘Family Safety’ app
Microsoft is now releasing the “Family Safety” app after testing it on selected users for a while. The idea behind the app is for parents to keep track of where their children are and what they do online, without making too much intrusion into the children’s private sphere.
The app has functions that can log what the children are doing with their mobile phones, which Microsoft suggests can serve as a basis for discussion when parents and children discuss any dangers online. It is also possible to set filters that block sites and other things that parents do not want their children to have access to. Furthermore, there are also functions for approving purchases that children make online, time locks for different types of activities with the mobile phone and a location function so that users can keep track of where their other family members are.
Microsoft Family Safety is free and can be downloaded for iOS in the App Store and for Android on Google Play.
