During the recent Xbox Developer Direct presentation, all eyes were on the unveiling of “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.” Developed by Uppsala-based Machine Games, known for their work on the Wolfenstein reboot and recent expansions for Quake 1 and 2, it seems that, in addition to Indy’s comeback, they might also be involved in the development of the next numbered Quake title.

Eagle-eyed viewers during the Indiana Jones reveal noticed a hastily scribbled whiteboard (44:46 in the video below) featuring a Quake logo and the text “AKE 6” in one corner. The likelihood of this being an unintentional oversight is extremely low, raising questions about how this revelation should be interpreted. If true, it aligns with XboxEra’s Shpeshal Nick’s claim back in 2021 that Quake 6 was in development by Id Software and Machine Games.
