AYN Odin Pro Review: Most Bang For The Buck
When I wrote in February that I thought this would be the year of handhelds, I thought it would take months before I managed to get an AYN Odin sent to me. It went much faster than that and now I’m no longer sure it’s the year of handhelds, but rather the year of Odin.
If you do not know what AYN Odin Pro is, it’s a handheld game console with a 6″ full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, a 6,000 mAh battery, 8GB of LPDDR4x memory, and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
It went up for pre-order last summer through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign and the first units began shipping to backers in Janurary. I’ve had my Odin Pro for almost three weeks now, and to put it mildly, I can tell you that I am absolutely blown away by what this console can accomplish in terms of emulation.
Now, this is a “review in progress” meaning I just wanted to spill the words that I’ve got my unit and plan to write more about it in the near future. Downloading games a.k.a rom files can be (and probably is) illegal, even if you own the game yourself. In order to play classic games on a your AYN Odin Pro, you need to dump your own physical versions of the games.
