Nintendo has delivered its latest annual report and in it we find out that things have been ok to say the least for the gaming giant over the past year. It seems that the pandemic and good game releases have been pretty good for Nintendo. More specifically, 28.8 million copies of the Nintendo Switch were sold. This means that the total figure for Switch units sold is 84.59 million copies and that Nintendo’s console continues to climb in the top list of best-selling consoles of all time. Switch has overtaken the Nintendo 3DS and Game Boy Advance and is now in eighth place directly after Playstation 3. And if the sales pace continues, Switch will continue to climb the list.

When it comes to software, 230.88 million games of various kinds have been sold, which is an increase of 36.8 percent compared to the year before. Games that have gone really well have been Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 20.85 million copies, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold 10.62 million copies and Super Mario 3D All-Stars sold 9.01 million copies.

In total, Nintendo’s net revenue landed at $ 16.1 billion for the year with an operating profit of $ 5.86 billion. According to Nintendo’s forecast, the 2021 profit will be $ 14.6 billion in revenue and an operating profit of $ 4.57 billion.
