Youtuber The Completionist buys all digital games from Nintendo’s soon-to-be-shut eshop
Nintendo recently announced that from March 27, it will no longer be possible to purchase digital games on Wii U or 3DS, as the company is scrapping its eshop to focus on the future. This prompted popular YouTuber Jirard Khalil, also known as The Completionist, to take action.
He decided to purchase all digital games available on the eshop for both consoles. This was no small feat, with 866 Wii U games and 1547 3DS games for sale in the store. In terms of storage space, it amounts to 1.2 TB for Wii U games and 267 GB for 3DS games, with a total price tag of almost 230,000 SEK.
Jirard documented the entire process in his video, and it was certainly a borderline insane undertaking, with several unexpected obstacles arising. This was largely due to Nintendo’s very strict rules. You can check out the full video down under.
