Were you aware that all the upcoming games revealed by Xbox Game Studios at the Xbox Games Showcase won’t be available on the Xbox One? There’s a specific reason behind this decision.

Stephen Totilo of Axios recently had the opportunity to interview Matt Booty, the head of Xbox Game Studios, during the Summer Game Fest. Booty revealed that Microsoft’s internal studios have transitioned away from the 8th generation of consoles. As a result, titles from renowned developers such as 343 Industries, The Coalition, Double Fine, Bethesda, Turn 10, Playground, Rare, Obsidian, and others will exclusively be released for PC and the Xbox Series S/X. Booty also debunked rumors about the discontinuation of the Xbox Series S, assuring fans that the teams have grown more comfortable with the console after successfully launching games for it.

Fortunately, this shift doesn’t mean that Xbox Game Studios is abandoning support for existing games on the Xbox One. So, don’t worry about titles like Forza Horizon 5 and Minecraft being left behind. Additionally, Xbox One owners will still have the option to play Xbox Series X titles through streaming.
