Valve’s next big push into living-room PC gaming and VR is officially set for this summer. The company has confirmed that both the new Steam Machine and the Steam Frame headset are planned to ship during summer 2026, narrowing the previous broader release window.

The Steam Machine is Valve’s renewed attempt to bring SteamOS-powered PC gaming to the TV, this time backed by the momentum of the Steam Deck. Rather than being a traditional console, it is positioned as a compact gaming PC built around the Steam ecosystem, with Valve also expanding its Verified program so players can more easily see which games are expected to run well on the new hardware.

Steam Frame, meanwhile, marks Valve’s next major step in VR. The headset is designed to work closely with Steam and will also benefit from its own verification system, helping users identify games suited for the device.

Valve has still not announced final pricing or an exact release date, which will likely be the next big question for fans. With hardware costs and component shortages continuing to affect the industry, the price tags could play a major role in how widely these devices are adopted.

Still, a summer launch puts Valve in an interesting position. With Steam Deck already proving that PC gaming can thrive outside the desktop setup, Steam Machine and Steam Frame could expand that idea into the living room and VR space in a much bigger way.
