Valve has officially raised the prices of several Steam Deck OLED models, with some versions increasing by more than $200. The company says the jump is tied to rising memory and storage costs, along with broader supply chain and logistics challenges affecting the tech industry.

The biggest changes hit the OLED lineup. The 512GB Steam Deck OLED now costs significantly more than before, while the 1TB version has also received a steep increase. Despite the higher prices, Valve says stock availability has improved and units are currently shipping within days in several regions.

According to Valve, the hardware itself remains unchanged. The company emphasized that the updated pricing simply reflects the current cost of components and manufacturing. Refurbished models are still available for users looking for a more affordable alternative, although those prices have also increased.

The move comes at a time when multiple gaming hardware manufacturers are dealing with increased production expenses. Companies like Sony, Nintendo, and Lenovo have all adjusted pricing on various devices recently due to similar component shortages and global economic pressure.

Even with the higher price tag, the Steam Deck remains one of the most popular handheld gaming PCs on the market thanks to its strong SteamOS integration, extensive game library support, and flexibility as both a portable and docked gaming device.

Valve has not announced whether the pricing changes are temporary or permanent, but for now, anyone considering a Steam Deck purchase may have to prepare for a noticeably larger dent in their wallet.
