After what feels like months of leaks, teases, and increasingly obvious hints, Ubisoft has finally made it official: the long-rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is set to be unveiled this week.

The updated version is expected to carry the name Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, and Ubisoft appears to be fully aware that the surprise has already been spoiled. Rather than pretending otherwise, the publisher has leaned into the situation with a wink, acknowledging that fans have been following the rumors for a while now.

According to the announcement, the full reveal is scheduled for Thursday evening at 18:00 CEST, when Ubisoft will finally show the project in action. That means one of the most requested Assassin’s Creed revivals is about to step into the spotlight for real.

The timing is hardly a shock. Reports from recent days claimed that Ubisoft was preparing to reveal the remake this week, with some leaks also pointing to a possible July 9 release date. That part remains unconfirmed for now, but it is clearly one of the biggest questions hanging over the showcase.

Adding even more fuel to the fire, parts of the trailer have reportedly already surfaced online ahead of the official reveal. So while Ubisoft is ready to present the game on its own terms, the internet has already done what it does best and started digging up the goods early.

For Assassin’s Creed fans, this is a big moment. Black Flag remains one of the most beloved entries in the series thanks to its mix of naval combat, open-sea exploration, and pirate fantasy. If Ubisoft can modernize that formula without losing what made the original special, this could end up being one of the publisher’s most exciting re-releases in years.
