Nintendo is prepping a substantial new version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing a wealth of fresh content, expanded multiplayer features, and quality-of-life improvements to the acclaimed 2D platformer. Titled Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, this updated release is slated for launch on March 26, 2026, and will be available both as a standalone game and as a paid upgrade for existing owners.

At the heart of this expansion is Bellabel Park, a lively new area in the Flower Kingdom designed around social play and mini-game challenges. The park is split into multiple plazas that support a variety of multiplayer activities: a Local Multiplayer Plaza featuring up to 17 mini-games, and a Game Room Plaza where players can team up or compete online with up to 12 participants.

The Switch 2 Edition also introduces an Assist Mode for more accessible gameplay, helping newcomers avoid damage and recover more easily. Additionally, Rosalina joins the playable character lineup, accompanied by her co-op partner Co-Star Luma. Long-time Mario enemies like the Koopalings return with refreshed boss encounters that tie into the expanded narrative.

Visually, the game takes advantage of the enhanced capabilities of the new hardware, with support for native 4K resolution. While detailed performance specs are still under wraps, pre-orders for both digital and physical versions are now available. With this major update, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is set to reassert itself as a flagship title for Nintendo’s next-gen console.
