NASA chief Jim Bridenstine have announced that for the first time since 2011, NASA will send US astronauts to the International Space Station ISS in a US-made craft.

SpaceX is responsible for the transport and for that you will use your rocket Falcon 9 and the transport capsule Crew Dragon. If everything goes according to plan, it is time for departure May 27 when it is planned that both astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley will go to the ISS. It will be SpaceX’s first manned spacecraft ever and the first manned spacecraft entirely under NASA’s auspices in nine years.

The last time the United States sent astronauts to space in a craft manufactured in the United States was when the space shuttle Atlantis lifted off the earth for the last time July 8, 2011. The last time the United States sent a spacecraft to the ISS was when the space shuttle Endeavor embarked on its last voyage May 16, 2011.

Since 2011, the United States has been referred to send astronauts to the ISS with the help of Russia and their Soyuz vessels. Now, however, it looks as though there may be an end to it and hopefully in the future the United States will be able to send its spacecraft to ISS and other parts of space on their own.
