Sony has announced that it will be shutting down its online multiplayer game “Concord” on September 6, merely 11 days after its release. Developed by Firewalk Studios, the game was launched on PlayStation 5 and PC with high expectations but failed to meet them, prompting the decision to remove it from digital stores.

The decision comes after the studio received player feedback indicating that the game’s initial launch did not resonate as intended. Ryan Ellis, Game Director at Firewalk Studios, acknowledged the game’s mixed reception, stating, “While many qualities of the experience resonated with players, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn’t land the way we’d intended.”

Sony is offering full refunds to all players who purchased the game, including those who bought it via PlayStation Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and other retailers. Refunds are expected to be processed within 30-60 days. Once the refund is issued, players will lose access to the game.

Despite the shutdown, Sony and Firewalk Studios have indicated that they are exploring other options for the future of “Concord” and aim to find new ways to connect with their players
