Variety reports that it will be a sequel to the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which is probably not entirely unexpected given how successful the first movie became.

The sequel, just like the first film, will be directed by Jeff Fowler and will receive screenplays from Josh Miller and Pat Casey. What the next Sonic movie will be about there’s still no information on.

When Sonic the Hedgehog premiered in February, it set a revenue record for movies based on a game and have earned $ 300 million during its time at the cinemas. This is probably one of the reasons (perhaps the biggest) why SEGA and Paramount have now decided to make a sequel to the film.
