In a move that few companies can match, Nintendo once again surprised fans during its latest Nintendo Direct stream by announcing The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This new title appears to be a remaster of the beloved classics A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds, but with a significant twist and the visual style reminiscent of the Link’s Awakening remake.

In a bold departure from tradition, Zelda, the holder of the Triforce of Wisdom, will be the main playable character. Series producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that Zelda will wield a new item called the Tri Rod, which grants her the power to replicate objects within the game world. This unique ability introduces an entirely new gameplay dynamic, setting this Zelda game apart from its predecessors.
