Nintendo Switch 2 to Feature 10x Graphics Boost Thanks to NVIDIA Tech
Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 isn’t just a generational upgrade—it’s a technical overhaul. According to new reports, the console will deliver up to ten times better graphics performance than the original Switch, marking a massive leap for Nintendo in the hardware space.
NVIDIA Powers the Upgrade
This performance jump is made possible by a new custom system-on-chip developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, leveraging modern technologies like DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and real-time ray tracing. DLSS allows the console to render games at lower resolutions and upscale them intelligently using AI, which means smoother visuals with less processing strain. Ray tracing, meanwhile, introduces realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections—something previously unimaginable on Nintendo hardware.
Specs Aimed at Serious Gaming
The Nintendo Switch 2 will reportedly support:
- 1080p resolution at up to 120 FPS in handheld mode
- 4K resolution at 60 FPS in docked mode
- HDR and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support for enhanced image quality and fluidity
These features position the Switch 2 as a serious contender, even among more powerful home consoles.
Pricing and Availability
The Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5, 2025. In Sweden, retailers like Webhallen and Elgiganten have already listed prices:
- Standard model: 6,795 SEK
- Mario Kart World Bundle: 7,490 SEK
It’s still unclear if these are final prices or placeholders, but they offer a ballpark figure for European gamers.
A New Era for Nintendo
With hardware finally catching up to modern standards and NVIDIA’s tech under the hood, the Switch 2 could become Nintendo’s most powerful and versatile console yet—delivering both cutting-edge graphics and the hybrid flexibility fans love.
