It finally happened. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was shown for the first time since its initial announcement in 2017. Samus Aran is set to return in 2025 under the direction of Retro Studios – and it looks truly impressive.

This first demonstration provided a glimpse into the combat, exploration via the morphball, and scanning in the classic Prime style. Fans can rest assured that this game will deliver the same type of adventure they know and love.

There has been speculation that this could also be a launch title for the successor to the Switch, as Nintendo has done several times before (most notably with Zelda). However, no official statement was made regarding this possibility. Regardless, next year marks the true return of Samus Aran, and we are incredibly hyped.
