iRobot has finally decided to implement sensors in its robot vacuum cleaner that allow it to detect and avoid obstacles such as dog poop, or other things such as piles of clothes and cables.

iRobot seems to be so sure that their sensors will be sharp enough to avoid poop disasters that they have launched the Pet Owner Official Promise, or POOP initiative, where they will replace your j7 + if the vacuum cleaner should accidentally pick up poop during the first year.

In addition to poop detectors, the robot vacuum cleaner comes with a new Clean Base that automatically empties the vacuum cleaner between cleanings and should also be smaller than previous charging stations, which makes it easier to place in the home.

The iRobot Roomba j7+ goes on sale today in the US for $849.
