When Apple presented the iPhone 12 the other week, they also introduced a new glass surface that is called “ceramic shield” for their phones. It is an extremely durable glass that was developed for Apple by the ice cream specialist Corning, the company that also developed Gorilla Glass, which is used in many mobile phones.

With a phone that has glass on both the front and back, of course, the risk of this breaking increases if you happen to lose your phone. In the clip above, the YouTube channel “EverythingApplePro” (EAP) has tested how durable the glass is on iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro and it clearly seems as if Corning’s Ceramic Shield glass is extremely durable.
