Games Done Quick, the largest speedrunning charity event in the world, has revised its participation guidelines to disallow a number of games from being played in the future.

This newly banned category comprises titles deemed unsuitable for their streams due to “content, views, or an origin.” It includes games with an ESRB adult-only rating, those banned on Twitch, and a range of other games – such as those associated with the Harry Potter brand.

As a result, the highly anticipated game Hogwarts Legacy, despite being one of the most anticipated releases of the year, will no longer be featured at any GDQ events. This decision may come as a surprise as the game would likely generate a considerable audience and revenue. Other games on the list include God of War (2005) and Five Nights at Freddy’s.

GDQ has clarified that this is a non-exhaustive list that can change at any time.
