Speculation around HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter reboot has been heating up, especially with fans eager to know who will step into the iconic roles. One of the latest casting rumors involved Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, who was reportedly in the running to play Lord Voldemort. However, that theory has now officially been debunked.

During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Murphy made it clear that he has not been approached for the role and isn’t involved with the project at all. He also praised Ralph Fiennes’ original performance as the Dark Lord, wishing the best to whoever ends up taking on the infamous character.

While HBO’s new Harry Potter series is still in early development, it promises a fresh adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s books, with each season reportedly covering one novel in the saga. Casting announcements are still under wraps, but one thing’s certain—Cillian Murphy won’t be the one without a nose.
