One more thing. With these classic words, Tim Cook introduced one of this year’s worst-kept secrets, Apple’s AR platform, which they have chosen to call Vision Pro. It’s a headset that you control with your voice and hands to manage and experience digital media both at home and in the workplace. The software demonstration that followed showcased how Vision Pro allows you to experience movies and photos like never before or customize your digital workspace in a unique way. It will even be possible to use both the Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard to control inputs on your virtual screens in Vision Pro.

The headset has screens both on the outside and inside, allowing others to still see your eyes when you use Vision Pro—a feature Apple refers to as Eyesight. The construction is made entirely of glass, metal, and fabric, with a digital crown similar to the one found on the Apple Watch. Vision Pro also features integrated speakers and will be usable for up to two hours using the portable battery. Perfect if you want to avoid being tied to a fixed power source.

Inside, there is an M2 chip that works in conjunction with the brand-new R1 chip to power Apple’s latest operating system, visionOS—exclusively developed for spatial computing. Apple has also partnered with Disney to create entirely unique experiences for Vision Pro, and according to the company, the headset is the “most advanced consumer electronics product for home use ever.”

The price tag will be $3499, which will likely translate to around 45,000 SEK here in Sweden. The launch is set to take place next year.
