Tech leaker Jon Prosser had already revealed a few weeks ago that Google was planning to announce the Google Pixel Fold on May 10th this year. However, for some reason, Google decided to unveil its latest creation earlier than planned. The announcement was made as part of a Star Wars Day joke, with the tech giant declaring, “May The Fold Be With You.” Additionally, we got a first glimpse of the device and information on when we can expect to learn more about it. The Pixel Fold website states that Google will showcase the device during the Google I/O keynote on May 10th, and that’s about all we officially know about the phone right now. However, there is a disclaimer on the website that reads:

“Pixel Fold coming soon. This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission or other regulators. These devices may not be sold or otherwise distributed until required legal authorizations have been obtained.”

Therefore, there is a good chance that we will get a launch date this week, as the device has hopefully been authorized.
