Skateboarding fans, it’s time to dust off your virtual decks—Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is making a comeback on July 11. After the successful revival of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, Activision and Iron Galaxy Studios are bringing another beloved pair of classics back, this time with modern enhancements, cross-platform multiplayer, and some new tricks up their sleeve.

A Fresh Take on a Classic

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 were defining titles in the early 2000s, setting the gold standard for arcade-style skateboarding games. Now, two decades later, they’re getting a full remake from the ground up, with updated visuals, refined gameplay, and brand-new parks for the first time in 10 years.

While the core mechanics and levels will be familiar to longtime fans, expect some modern touches, including:
New skaters, with the inclusion of Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, and Yuto Horigome alongside legends like Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, and Elissa Steamer.
More tricks to pull off gnarlier combos.
An expanded soundtrack (because what’s THPS without an iconic playlist?).
Cross-platform online multiplayer, supporting up to eight skaters.

How to Play Early

If you’re eager to drop in before launch, there are a few ways to get early access:

  • Pre-order any edition of the game, and you’ll get access to the Foundry Demo in June.
  • Pre-order the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Edition, and you’ll get to play the full game three days early, starting July 8.

The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with Doom Slayer and Revenant characters, exclusive skate decks, and Create-a-Skater items. Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition includes everything from the Digital Deluxe version plus a full-size Birdhouse skateboard deck featuring Tony Hawk’s printed signature—a nice collectible for hardcore fans.

Platforms and Availability

The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC (via Steam, Battle.net, and Microsoft Store), and Nintendo Switch. It will also launch on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, making it accessible to even more players from day one.

A Skating Revival Worth the Hype?

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise has been through its ups and downs over the years, but the 1 + 2 remake proved there’s still a massive audience for high-speed, trick-heavy arcade skating. With 3 + 4 getting the same treatment, it’s shaping up to be another solid entry that respects the original while adding just enough new content to keep things fresh.

Time to start practicing those 900s again—July isn’t too far away.
