The Sims 4 actually celebrated eight years earlier this month. Since 2014, we’ve received a lot of different updates and additions, and with this in mind, today’s announcement is perhaps not so surprising – although it is gratifying.

Electronic Arts and Maxis announce that The Sims 4 will be free for Mac, PC, Playstation and Xbox from October 18. One of the reasons why they make the game a so-called free-to-play is that the developers still have plans to make even more expansions in the future. Details about this will be revealed in a stream called Behind The Sims Summit at 19:00 on October 18.

Before that, we can also mention that if you already bought The Sims 4, you can expect to receive a Desert Luxe Kit gift sometime before the stream.
