Steam Breaks Record with 37 Million Concurrent Users
Valve’s Steam platform has once again made headlines by setting a new record for concurrent users. On August 25, 2024, Steam reached an unprecedented 37.2 million users online simultaneously. This milestone marks the fourth time this year that Steam has broken its own record, underscoring its dominance in the PC gaming market.
The surge in users has been partly attributed to the popularity of the newly released action RPG Black Myth: Wukong, which has captivated millions of players worldwide. This game, along with other popular titles like Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2, has helped push Steam to new heights. During this peak, more than 12.5 million users were actively playing games on the platform.
Despite growing competition from platforms like Epic Games Store, Steam continues to lead by a significant margin, maintaining its position as the go-to platform for PC gamers. The previous record, set earlier this year, was around 36 million concurrent users, highlighting the rapid growth and sustained popularity of Steam among gamers.
The gaming community eagerly watches to see if Steam will break the 38 million concurrent users milestone in the near future.
