Split Fiction Surpasses Two Million Sales in First Week
Hazelight Studios’ latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has achieved remarkable success, selling over two million copies within its first week of release. This impressive milestone suggests that up to four million players may have experienced the game, considering its mandatory cooperative gameplay.
The game’s popularity is further evidenced by its peak concurrent player count on Steam, reaching over 259,000 players shortly after launch. This achievement positions Split Fiction as one of Electronic Arts’ most successful titles on the platform, second only to the free-to-play Apex Legends.
Critically acclaimed, Split Fiction holds a score of 91 on Metacritic, making it EA’s first title in over a decade to surpass the 90 mark since Mass Effect 3 in 2012. This success also appears to have boosted interest in Hazelight’s previous titles, with It Takes Two surpassing 23 million copies sold and A Way Out reaching 11 million.
Split Fiction is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
