Sony and Santa Monica Studio’s sequel God of War Ragnarok was originally scheduled to be released last year, but no one was really surprised when they postponed it to 2022 almost a year ago. In order to dispel suspicions and really assure us that they still intend to release it during the current calendar year, the developers issued an official statement in early April. Now, however, it seems that it will not only be released this year – it will even be released soon.

The origin of the rumor is that God of War Ragnarök has been given “ratings” – for example age classification etcetera – for the Korean and Saudi Arabian market. For comparison, both Horizon Forbidden West and The Last of Us: Part II ratings were given less than four months before launch, so some suggest that we will see God of War Ragnarok in either September or October, if it follows the same pattern.

This is also in line with the leaked data from December which pointed to a September release.
