From last nights Resident Evil Showcase we learned that Capcom will not only release the upcoming 8th game in Shinji Mikami’s iconic horror series on May 7, but will also release the game for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, in addition to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Ethan Winters is back in the Village, to look for his kidnapped daughter who has been imprisoned in an old ancient castle. Capcom continues in the same way as with the 7th game, with first-person horror rather than the typical third-person perspective the game series is known for.

There’s a demo called “Maiden” out on PS5 now, but that version of the game does not contain weapons, battles or the ability to block enemy attacks. Capcom also announced that they are releasing a “regular” demo for all other platforms later this spring.
