Famitsu reveals that over 25 million Switch units have been sold in Japan alone. About 18 million of these are traditional Switch machines, five million Lite-diton and the two million OLED variant. In addition, a number of Switch games are still among the best-selling each month, even though they are several years old.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, for example, has sold 7.26 million units in Japan alone, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has sold 4.89 million units. To play around with numbers, 125 million people live in Japan and every fifth person on average owns a Switch.
