LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Moves Release Date Up by One Week
In a rare twist for a major game launch, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is now arriving earlier than expected. TT Games and Warner Bros. Games have shifted the release date from May 29, 2026 to May 22, 2026, giving Batman fans a chance to jump into Gotham a full week sooner.
The date change applies to the game’s PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions, while the Nintendo Switch 2 edition is still scheduled to arrive later in 2026. Pre-orders have also gone live alongside the updated launch plans, signaling that the rollout is now fully locked in across the main announced platforms.
Players willing to pay extra for the Deluxe Edition will be able to start even earlier. That version includes 72 hours of early access, which effectively pushes the playable date to May 19. The premium edition also comes with bonus digital content, continuing the now-familiar strategy of rewarding early buyers with both extra cosmetics and a head start.
The move gives Warner Bros. Games a small but welcome win in a year where delays have continued to dominate the conversation around big-budget releases. It also puts Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight into what is shaping up to be a highly competitive late-May release window, meaning the game will need to make an immediate impact as soon as it lands.
Based on official store descriptions and publisher material, the game is being positioned as an open-world action-adventure that traces Bruce Wayne’s rise into Gotham’s iconic protector, blending a more cinematic Batman angle with TT Games’ trademark Lego-style humor and accessible co-op-friendly design. That combination could make this one of the studio’s biggest releases in years if it delivers on the scale being promised.
