iPhone Air Still Available as iPhone 17 Line Sells Out
Apple’s latest iPhone 17 lineup is flying off the shelves, with the standard and Pro models already sold out in most regions. However, the newly introduced iPhone Air is still widely available — a surprising outcome considering the limited stock Apple initially allocated for the device.
Only around 10% of total iPhone production this year was reportedly assigned to the Air model, suggesting that Apple approached its release with caution. That strategy now appears justified, as the model remains easy to find while others are backordered or unavailable.
The iPhone Air’s position in the lineup may be part of the reason for the lukewarm reception. Sitting between the standard and Pro models, it fills a “middle ground” slot that has historically struggled to attract buyers — a fate previously seen with the iPhone Mini and iPhone Plus.
Despite this, the Air does have its merits. Its lightweight and ultra-slim design have been praised by early users. However, battery life is a notable weak point. To address this, Apple has released a MagSafe-compatible battery pack tailored specifically for the Air, aimed at extending usage without compromising portability.
Whether the iPhone Air finds long-term success remains to be seen, but for now, it stands out as the most available member of the iPhone 17 family — for better or worse.
