EA buys Codemasters for $1.2 billion
The American gaming giant Electronic Arts will buy the British game developer Codemasters. EA has now confirmed this. Codemasters would have been bought by game distributor Take-Two Interactive, but EA came up with a better offer at the last minute.
Codemasters was founded in the 80’s and has created successful games for everything from home computers such as ZX Spectrum and Commorode 64 to today’s gaming platforms. In modern times, Codemasters are primarily known for their racing titles, such as Dirt and Grid.
