EA Boss Tells Blocked Battlefield 6 Players to Refund and Buy on Steam
The launch of Battlefield 6 on PC has been marred by a serious issue for players who bought the game through the EA App. Due to a glitch, many users have been unable to access the game, with the launcher incorrectly flagging content as missing—even when it was already purchased.
In an unexpected move, EA executive Vince Zampella took to social media to directly advise players affected by the bug to refund their EA App purchase and instead buy the game on Steam, where the issue doesn’t exist. Zampella even admitted that he personally plays Battlefield 6 on Steam, calling the situation “embarrassing.”
The bug has caused widespread frustration in the community, especially as it’s not the first time EA’s launcher has had major problems. While the EA team is working on a fix, many players are already opting to take Zampella’s advice and switch platforms.
To make amends, EA is offering affected players a bundle of in-game bonuses, including 12 hardware boosters, 12 career XP boosters, and access to a season Battle Pass. Players who bought the more expensive Phantom Edition are also receiving the full Season 2 Battle Pass as an apology.
