Nintendo has officially confirmed that Donkey Kong Bananza, one of the launch titles for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, will run at a native 1080p resolution with 60 frames per second and HDR support in handheld mode. This performance benchmark was detailed in the latest issue of Nintendo Magazine 2025, showcasing the console’s enhanced capabilities .
Achieving Full HD resolution and a stable 60fps in handheld mode represents a significant leap from the original Switch’s 720p output. This advancement is made possible by the Switch 2’s upgraded hardware, including a custom Nvidia processor and a 7.9-inch LCD display .
Donkey Kong Bananza is developed by EAD Tokyo, the studio behind Super Mario Odyssey. The game introduces a 3D platforming experience with a focus on vertical exploration and destructible environments, blending traditional platforming elements with mining mechanics reminiscent of titles like SteamWorld Dig .
