After nearly a decade in the shadows, the legendary Carmageddon franchise is making a brutal comeback with Carmageddon: Rogue Shift. This time, the series is shifting gears into roguelite territory, combining chaotic vehicular combat with procedurally generated runs and modern progression mechanics.

Set in a post-apocalyptic 2050, players must race for survival through deadly courses filled with mutated creatures, collapsing cities, and unpredictable hazards. The goal? Escape the wasteland, one explosive run at a time.

The game features 15 uniquely upgradeable vehicles — including front-, rear- and all-wheel drive options — each armed with over-the-top weapons ranging from basic firearms to devastating heavy artillery. Players can also customize their builds with more than 80 unlockable perks, ensuring that no two playthroughs feel the same.

Dynamic weather, day-night cycles, and zombie-infested nighttime races crank up the unpredictability. Every victory earns new gear, fuel, and upgrades, pushing you further toward the ultimate goal: escape through the mountains and out of the madness.

Rogue Shift is set to launch in early 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, and aims to revive the Carmageddon name with a gritty, high-octane twist that modern players won’t want to miss.
