Retro gaming enthusiasts have something new to celebrate, as Analogue has revealed the Analogue 3D, a modern reimagining of the classic Nintendo 64 console. The console, expected to launch in 2024, allows users to play original N64 cartridges in up to 4K resolution without relying on software emulation. Instead, the console uses FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) technology, ensuring a more faithful recreation of the original hardware.

One of the most exciting features of the Analogue 3D is its compatibility with all N64 games from any region, meaning it supports both NTSC and PAL cartridges. The console also includes various display modes, allowing players to switch between a modern 4K experience or a more nostalgic CRT-like display. Additionally, Analogue has partnered with 8BitDo to create a Bluetooth N64-style controller, which retains the iconic “trident” shape but updates it for modern play.

Pre-orders for the Analogue 3D and its controller will begin soon, with the console priced at $249.99 USD and the controller at $39.99 USD. This release aims to cater to both casual gamers and hardcore retro collectors, offering a blend of modern tech and nostalgic appeal.
