MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ With Intel Arc G3 Extreme Goes on Sale in the Nordics
MSI’s latest Windows handheld brings Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme platform, an 8-inch 120Hz VRR display and an 80Wh battery to Nordic retailers.
MSI has started selling the Claw 8 EX AI+ across the Nordic region, bringing Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme handheld platform to retailers including Elkjøp/Elgiganten, Giganten, Proshop and Inet. The Windows 11 handheld pairs an 8-inch 120Hz VRR display with Intel’s 14-core Arc G3 Extreme processor and integrated Arc B390 graphics, while MSI is also offering a Launch Pack with several accessories.
Intel’s new handheld platform arrives in the Claw
The Claw 8 EX AI+ is one of the first systems built around Intel’s Arc G-Series processors, a family introduced specifically for handheld gaming PCs. Intel lists the Arc G3 Extreme as a 14-core, 14-thread mobile processor with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.7GHz, 12MB of cache and a configurable 8–35W TDP range. Its integrated Arc B390 GPU has 12 Xe cores, while the platform also includes a 46-TOPS NPU.
MSI’s launch material puts particular emphasis on XeSS 3 with Multi-Frame Generation. Intel says its handheld platform also supports precompiled shaders in selected games, intended to reduce shader-compilation delays and stutter. Performance and battery-life claims published by Intel are based on its own testing, so they should not be treated as independent benchmark results.
An 8-inch 120Hz screen and redesigned controls
The handheld uses an 8-inch IPS-level touchscreen with a 1920×1200 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, VRR support and a quoted 500-nit brightness. Nordic retailer listings for the 1TB model also show 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and an 80Wh battery.
MSI says it has reshaped the chassis around more ergonomic grips and fitted Hall-effect analogue sticks and triggers, refined bumpers and a revised D-pad. A new linear motor is intended to provide faster and more detailed haptic feedback. The software side includes Xbox Mode support and a redesigned Quick Settings interface, with controls for features including Multi-Frame Generation and in-game frame limiting.

Nordic pricing and the Launch Pack
At the time of writing, both Inet and Elgiganten list the 32GB/1TB Claw 8 EX AI+ at 21,490 SEK in Sweden. Availability differs by retailer: Inet shows the unit as an order item, while Proshop lists a Launch Pack configuration at 22,490 SEK with stock expected later in September. Those are current retailer prices rather than a converted US MSRP.
The optional Launch Pack contains an MSI Claw Travel Case III, a Claw keychain, grip caps and an 8-inch tempered-glass screen protector. MSI’s Nordic announcement says delivery timing and availability vary by market, so buyers should check their local retailer before ordering.
A significant generation for Intel handhelds
The launch matters beyond MSI’s own product line because Arc G3 is Intel’s first processor family explicitly positioned around next-generation handheld gaming. The Claw 8 EX AI+ therefore serves as an early retail showcase for the platform, combining the new silicon with a large battery, VRR display and a control layout designed around portable play. Whether the efficiency and high-frame-rate claims translate into a clear real-world advantage will depend on independent testing; this announcement alone does not establish that.
